When I reached out to Shauna I was in a very low place. I was depressed, desperate, and, as Anne Shirley would say, “in the depths of despair”.

In that space, I always know I need help, but I also always found it near impossible to explain my challenge. And when I attempted to explain it, I was invited to join signature programs and special offerings. I was led to believe I needed coaching, goal-setting, a marketing strategy, a mastermind group, a plan to follow. I tried them all. Nothing really worked the way I needed it to.

That’s not something a program or strategic plan could provide.

I needed someone to capture my verbal processing and out-loud thinking—but more importantly, I needed someone I could be vulnerable around, a special person who understood how precious the stories and ideas in my head were to me and who would welcome them as they showed up…someone who could engage in my creative and messy thinking process—with me.

I got all that with Shauna and more. I hadn’t expected to find a person willing to play and get curious, who was open to exploring how our working relationship might evolve without the pressure of expectation or a pre-set plan. Not only that, but Shauna also provided the one essential and fundamental ingredient I was always looking for in these professional collaborations and never fully experienced until then: connection. I believe this to be a very rare quality.

Shauna’s assistance and partnership helped me express my voice… and deepened my own appreciation and love for it. That is as simple as I can put it. She did so with patience, compassion, excitement, and loving encouragement and support. I never dared dream of finding a collaborator as generous as she was with her attention and care.
